Halloween Fun

Good Morning!  Did you all have a fun Halloween weekend?  It is so much better when Halloween is on a weekend, no worrying about waking up early for school the next day and we got an "extra" hour in our day yesterday so that is always good.  We had a great time, the kids did some trick or treating and really enjoyed being dressed up, even Mikey.  I kept asking him if he wanted to put on his spider costume and he would nod his head and say mmhmmm, it is so cute.  Here is the little bug dressed up....love that he kept the hood on most of the night - and that is my sister Whitney dressed as the Wicked Witch, she looked so good. 

Jakey was Luke Skywalker as an X-Wing Fighter Pilot, here he is with his brother before we left for the festivities.  He doesn't have his helmet on but you get the idea...

Everyone pretty much dressed up, except my hubby and brother-in-law, even my mom threw together the best pirate costume at the last minute.  It was great, she would kill me if I posted her picture here so I won't but it was really good.  My sisters also made me into a school girl, which was funny and awful, my brother asked me what exactly are you supposed to be??  A babysitter?  It was really funny.  I am also going to save myself the embarrassment and not post a picture on my blog. 

And for something crafty...that's why you're here right?!  Jakey and I made some Halloween cards during the day on Halloween, he loves to craft with me.  I had this Doodlebug kit that I got from CARDS for one of my pubs so we broke it open and put together a few quick cards.  I also used Papertrey's 2009 Halloween Tags, Background Basics: Spots & Dots, and Background Basics: Retro.  Apologies for the less than perfect photos, it was super quick before we got our costumes on.

Birthdays & More Birthdays!

Good Monday to you all!  I am already tired, just spent the last couple of hours cleaning!  And there is always more to do...especially with two boys.  In addition to my hubby and son's birthday last week, we also celebrated my neice's birthday on Saturday and my brothers birthday yesterday.  Lots and lots of family time this weekend which was nice...got to visit my aunt, uncle and cousins on Saturday and it was so fun and relaxing, I just love going there.  Not to mention the rest of the family was there too and we got to see the newlyweds again after their honeymoon - fun times.  Anyhow, thought I would share the birthday cards I made for my neice and my brother (even though I forgot to bring it last night - sorry Eric)!

First here is my now 4 year old neice, Hayden.  She is all about princesses right now, notice the dress in the picture, and she really really wanted me to buy her Mulan's horse - so luckily I was able to find it and I got it!  Such a cute sweet girl, love her so much!

 

And here is her girly card, not too much stamping going on, the sentiment is from Papertrey's Birthday Basics set, stamped in Raspberry Fizz ink on Aqua Mist cardstock.  The buttons are also Raspberry Fizz Vintage buttons and that patterned paper is from DCWV.

 

And now my brother, he turned 26 yesterday, getting old huh?!  He is a great dad to his little one and such a good person to have around you, funny, smart and great to talk to.  So glad him and his little family moved back home a few months ago.

 

And here is his card, a simple one using Star Prints and some great DCWV patterned paper.  I just love the simplicity of this one!

Wedding Fever!

Hi there!!!  Long time (it seems) since I have had a chance to sit down and blog!  If you follow my blog, you know that my baby sister got married this past weekend and life has been a flurry of activity leading up to and including that wonderful day!  I must say it was a beautiful and fun wedding filled with family and friends, lots of good food, good music, a few tears, and most importantly LOVE!  My sister was so happy the whole day and she looked so so beautiful!  Here are a few pictures from the day...

And of course I couldn't not share the card I made for them using their colors orange and blue.  I used Polka Dot Basics to create the patterned paper on the bottom of the card and the sentiment is from Favor It Weddings, and the little heart is from Heart Prints.  Just a simple, glittery card to let them know how much we care about them!

My Baby Boy & Another Couch Card

Happy Friday!!!  I typically have Friday's off and get to get caught up on things around the house while chasing after the kids.  It is always one of my favorite days of the week.  The big happenings for us this week are that Mikey finally decided to walk - at least most of the time.  It is so cute to see him toddling around, I love it.  Sometimes he falls every few steps but he gets back up (mostly) and keeps going!  Such a cutie that kiddo, he just melts my heart.  Here he is doing his "cheeeese" face - this picture is the first time I saw him do it and I just happened to be snapping pictures of him.

 

Now, don't worry, I also have a card to share, one I made with Lisa's set On my Couch and On my Couch Additions - did I mention I love it:)?!!  It was a fun card to make with lots of sewing, a little quilt of sorts.  The squares are 1 3/8" and just pasted down on my card front then I sewed all around the seams.  Then I added the circle with my cute Lemon Tart couch, Aqua Mist rug and Pure Poppy Sentiment (oh and Dark Chocolate couch feet).  I added Pure Poppy Stitched Ribbon to the side and three coordinating vintage buttons on the bottom. 

   

Here is a closer look at the focal point, I punched it out with a scalloped circle punch from Marvy and added a regular circle cut with my Nestabilities from a piece of vellum.

Birthday Fun

Had a wonderful birthday celebration for Mikey this past Saturday!  The whole family came out to play at the park plus our wonderful friends - it was a little cold and cloudy but overall we had fun.  Lots of football throwing, baseball, eating, bubbles, and toys - a great time for everyone!!

Here is my favorite shot of the day - Mikey getting a good look at the cake, not sure what he thinks about it yet!

Jake enjoyed lots of baseball playing with his Uncle Eric, Grandma and Aunt Danielle...

 

He also ran around and chased bubbles with his friend Grace and cousin Hayden (not in picture)...

  

And we got Michael the cutest little turtle ride on toy, I think he really likes it...

Colorful Thank You

So I have been so busy this week and have neglected to post anything here - sorry!  We are in the process of packing and moving so it is taking up a lot of my time!  And I am furiously working on my May Papertrey projects!  Anyhow, thought I would quickly share a card I made last month with Lisa's set, Background Basics: Spots & Dots - it is a kinda crazy colorful card, sometimes I look at it and like it and other times I look at it and think wow, that isn't that cute...I hope you all like it ;)!

  

The colors are Spring Rain, New Leaf, Melon Berry, Summer Sunrise, Plum Pudding, and Raspberry Fizz - quite a combo huh?!  The sentiment is from Borders and Corners Square and I matted it on a scalloped square that I punched with a Marvy punch.  Buttons are all Papertrey too - Melon Berry, New Leaf, and Hibiscus Burst. 

And this little guy???  Well, he just passed 11 months yesterday - can you believe he is getting so big?  Less than a month and we will be celebrating his first birthday.  He is FINALLY getting a tooth - can't believe how long that took!!  He loves pointing at everything and everyone and calls his brother JJ or something that sounds like that.  What a joy he is to have in our lives!!

Easter Festivities!

Just popping by to tell you all that we had a great weekend filled with Easter festivities and lots of nice family time.  We spent Friday at the Jelly Belly factory, got a tour, bought a boatload of candy and drove A LOT!!  It was pretty fun and Jacob loved it!  Saturday we got to meet my sisters' fiance's family and have a wonderful dinner at their home before attending Easter mass with them, it was really nice.  And Easter was spent with the family, eating, hunting eggs, and just generally hanging out...a really nice day.  Here is a cute pic of the boys together on Easter Sunday in their matching Gymboree shirts (I love putting them in matching clothes!!)!

Spingtime Citrus Love

Happy Monday all!  Just getting home and trying to get the baby down for a nap...he has figured out how to pull himself up in his crib and laying down is proving to be a bit difficult lately.  He is so funny though and proud of himself!  It was a wonderful first day of Spring around here, spent some time in the sun with the kids only to spend the weekend with rain and snow falling at our house, but lucky for us the sun has returned today.  So while we had lots of sun I was inspired to make the lovely citrusy card - I used some patterned paper from a DCWV Citrus mat pak I found at Joann's with the most lovely colors.  The tag is from Tags for Spring, I punched out the center first after inking it with Summer Sunrise and Pure Poppy, then stamped it again in Ripe Avocado on Kraft cardstock.  I have been using the dotted circle border from Borders and Corners Circle so much lately, just love the little punch it adds.  Stamped it here in Fresh Snow ink. 

 

The little jewel flower in the center is from K&Company I think...and I added the dotted circles on the background paper in Spring Moss.

 

And can't resist sharing a picture of my little one standing in the crib - isn't he melt your heart cute?!  I so enjoy every minute with him!!!

Retro Tags

Just a quick card to welcome you to the new week ahead.  Doesn't Monday always feel like a chance to start over?  Like if you had a bad week previously or jumped off the diet or didn't exercise as planned - all of those things that we procrastinate about - well Monday is a chance to start over right?  Welcome to a new week, one filled with rain, school, work, giggling, crafting, laundry, dishes, Legos, chocolate, and most of all love for us...how about you, what fills your week ahead? 

I combined theTags for Spring set with Background Basics: Retro and Little Lady to create this super easy card for you all.  I love the color combo - Pure Poppy, Aqua Mist, and True Black.  This is probably my favorite tag in the set - at least right now - I can't wait to create more stuff with it.  I messed the Stickles in the flower centers up just a bit, but you get the idea right??? 

   

I really like the sentiment, so good for so many occasions and isn't the Fresh Snow ink coverage on black outstanding!!!???  I used a cute red button and some "Aqua Mist" embroidery floss.  Did I tell you all that I took all the PTI colors and went to our local hardware store where they have a million colors of embroidery floss and matched them all up!  It only cost me like $8 and I have all kinds of matchy fun:)!!

Happy Heart Day

I wanted to quickly share another little valentine card with you in some yummy pinks and blues, love these together.  I added a little more of that stripy, shiny paper behind my main panel and those cute little twinkle heart stickers from Amuse - love those.  This of course uses my favorite set of the moment, Heart Prints, I seriously want to use it on every card I make lately!  I chose the pretty rosy floral hearts for this one cause I didn't think I had loved them enough! 

 

Lots of Raspberry Fizz on this one and Fresh Snow which is such a to die for white ink - great coverage, I can't say enough good things about it!  I am also a big fan of sponging lately, it just adds so much dimension to things - I sponged the hearts and the outside of the cardbase on this one.

 

Okay, one more thing...my friend Char tagged me the other day for that 6th picture folder, 6th picture thingy...so here's mine -

 

This picture is part of my mom's face, my sister Niki and her cutie pie daughter Hayden.  Hayden is now three, must have been about one in this picture and I really  have no idea where we were or what we were doing!!!  I have a really bad memory sometimes!
