My Time Made Easy Farewell

Just popping on quickly to let you know that I resigned from the My Time Made Easy design team after last month.  Plain and simple the reason is that little boy you see in the picture above, he is taking much of my time right now and I just didn't feel I could effectively produce all the projects required of me for the MTME team.  It was plain stressing me out and stamping totally should not stress you out!!!  It is for fun, right?!  I have had lots of fun designing with Lauren and all the fabulous DT members, they are all a bunch of sweeties.  And congrats to Tammy & Lisa, fabulous additions to the team!  Thank you so much for having me Lauren, I can't wait to see what else you have in store for MTME! 

And I couldn't resist sharing a super funny cute picture with you illustrating one of Mikey's current favorite activities.  I have a big jar of assorted (non-Papertrey) buttons that I pick through sometimes and Mikey loves to dump them out, separate them by color, move them around with a shovel...anything.  Everyday I hear, "I play my buttons" from him and we get to work.  I thought all my crafty friends would appreciate that:)!

My Time Made Easy August Release

Well better late than never right?  I have a couple of cards to share for the August release at My Time Made Easy.  The first card features the Money Well Spent set, which is perfect for giving gift cards and much more.  I focused on the super cute little game controller, mostly because I have a cousin whose birthday is this month and he loves gaming!  I paired it with the older Argyle Amazement set to create a cool background with turquoise, black, gray and white...very teenage boy right?!

The second card uses the new Lost My Tooth set, I chose the fairy image to make a super simple card perfect for a little girl.  I stamped it in white ink on dark purple cardstock and sponged some dark purple ink around the edges.  The sentiment is from the Just For You set, such a pretty curly font.  I added two little rhinestones for a little sparkle.  I also used a piece of cute digital paper from the Taylor's Tooth collection in Plum Raindrops, very cute!

My Time Made Easy Group Post

Here I am with one last My Time Made Easy post for this month (at least officially;)), we have all created projects today so make sure to hop around for lots of inspiration.  I used one of my favorite images from the fun new Tending the Garden set, the cute little bee!  And doesn't that flourish from Fanciful Flourishes make a great "trail" for the bee?!  I stamped it on some Pink Paislee patterned paper and distressed the edges just a bit with some Distress ink.  The bee was stamped on ivory cardstock with a bit of color added with colored pencils.

I also created a little background with a leaf and flower image, again on ivory cardstock.  I really like that little leaf image and the fact that Lauren created two, each bending a different direction is perfect!  I also added some pretty trim peaking out of the patterned panel.

My Time Made Easy Simple Seedling

 
Welcom to Day 3 of the MTME release posts, today is the day you are able to purchase all the new products at the My Time Made Easy store.  I am previewing one of the new cut files, called Simple Seedling, which I paired with Tending the Garden.  I actually handcut two cards and stitched them together along a top seam I created, right below the cute little scalloped top edge.  I used a piece of October Afternoon patterned paper from the Ducks In a Row collection as a mat, they die cut a label for the focal point.  I stamped the larger leaf images from the set in two colors to give some dimension, first a lighter green and then a darker green over the top.  I did a similar thing with the flower using two different pinks. 

In addition to the cute little card Lauren designed, she has a matching envelope, it is fun and easy to put together.  I made it from some ivory resume paper to match my card and of course I added some coordinating stamped elements to the outside.

My Time Made Easy Tending The Garden

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the My Time Made Easy sneak peeks for July!  Today I get the pleasure of introducing another super cute set called Tending the Garden.  It is full of garden type images and lots of different (and useful) sentiments.  For my first card I used the cute swirly little pea pod image and the "Lil' Sweet Pea" sentiment, a perfect combination for a baby card.  I also used a simple frame from Killer Curves and hand trimmed it.  The background was created with two different greens (light and dark) and the long stamp from Paper Pattern Pieces.  I couldn't resist adding a few tiny buttons that I found in my stash, I believe these came from a scrapbooking store I visit every once in a while that has little bins of buttons you can pick through and purchase individually...not economical probably but they have quite a selection.  Or at least they used to as I haven't been there forever! 

For my second card I used the big watering can image from the set and I paper pieced it using a piece from the Farm Fresh pad from October Afternoon, it has so many pretty colors in it!  I created a little background using elements from the set on kraft cardstock from Couture Cardstock.  The focal point and the sentiment are on die cuts from the Blossom dies from Spellbinders. 

This card is 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 which is a fun size but difficult to find an envelope for, nevertheless I used it.  Iadded a green cardstock strip, stamped with the leaf image and a big fat piece of ric rac.  At the last minute I added the butterfly...what do you think?

My Time Made Easy Killer Curves

   
Hello there...I am back again with more to share, this week will be a busy one on the blog...I will have cards everyday!  So today I get to give you a little sneak peek of the new sets being released at My Time Made Easy in July.  They will all be available for purchase on July 1st, this Thursday!  I am previewing a new set called Killer Curves, a kind of companion to last months set Killer Curves: Fancy Frames.  I just love the cool frame images and the floral images in the set, they are really pretty and definitely very useful! 

 
For my first card I used my favorite frame, the polka dot frame and clear embossed it, then trimmed it out.  These frames do fit with last months cut files but I don't have a digital cutter so I did it by hand, using scissors for the outside and a craft knife for the inside.  The floral image was inked with green and melon by simply inking the green first and then wiping it off the flower portions with my finger, then adding the melon with a dew drop pad.  The sentiment is from So Sentimental and the pattern on the bottom is from Puckered Up Patterns. 

For my second card I used a more plain label and again trimmed it, then die cut a circle from kraft cardstock to fit in the center.  I clear embossed the floral image then sponged ink around it, totally different color palette, kinda feels fallish to me.  The sentiment is from another new set that I will sneak peek tomorrow.

You can see how I trimmed just a little bit off the outer edge of the card and added a rust colored strip inside, first stamping it repeatedly with the floral image.  I tied one simple piece of twine along the scalloped edge.  I really like how this card turned out, clean and simple!

Simple Teacup

Wednesday already...this week is flying by I tell you.  Today I have five little ones so it is a busy and fun day.  The big kids and I are going to make t-shirts with fabric paint when the babies go down for naps.  They are really excited about it.  So with that I thought I better blog real quick while the kids are watching a little Super Why, well kinda, the babies are always preoccupied by something else.  I have a super simple card using MTME's Spot of Tea set (back in stock June 19th for those that are waiting for it).  I fell in love with this card by Catherine Doucette during the countdown and just had to make one myself!  I used We Are Memory Keepers paper - some that I actually found at TJMaxx recently for really cheap.

MTME Group Post

It's time for our final group post for this month's MTME release!  This month had lots of pretty things, including this lovely teacup (from the A Spot of Tea set) which I couldn't resist using again!  I made a simple pretty card with a few little details.  I actually used the teacup image to create a background on my pink layer, I would like to try it again on maybe a square card cause I really did like the results.  The teacup focal point image was paper pieced with some of the new Vintage Dots digital paper.  My favorite part of the card??  The ruffle ribbon along the bottom, love how that turned out!

MTME Group Post - Cards

 
Time for all the MTME designers to share some cards they have made with the new sets!  I chose to create a set of "berry" themed thank  you cards, each obviously using a different berry (well not sure that a cherry is a berry but it looks cute:)).

More MTME

Time for another little sneakie peekie of the My Time Made Easy release for June!  Lauren has the cutest little tea set coming out, it includes this adorable teacup...which you can decorate with other elements from the set, color, paper piece, or maybe even leave plain.  I chose the paper piecing this time and I love the results!  I used October Afternoon patterned paper which is lovely and coordinated the rest of my card elements are it.  The little adhesive pearls in each corner were the perfect finishing touch!

Next up is a fun little card I whipped up with the new Well Preserved set, a must for anyone that prepares homemade goodies for packaging, especially the canned variety.  I love all the fruit images in it and will definitely be making some labels for my Grandma's jam again this year.  For this card I used the outline apple image and the core image to create my own patterned paper - love doing that!  Then I just added my little apple diecut element (cut from a CB die) and sentiment...perfectly simple cute card!
