Alphabet Soup

Michael was wearing a onesie the other day with ABC's and 123's all over it and Jacob said, "Look Mom, Mikey has alphabet soup on his shirt."  That gave me an idea to make a background pattern and use it for a baby thank you card.  I used some of the new SU! In Colors for 2008, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Tangerine Tango, and Kiwi Kiss.  The sailboat is from the Baby Boy set I have used in the past and the little sentiment is from Papertrey Mixed Messages.

Elephant Thank You

Happy Thursday!  Almost the end of another week, hopefully springtime will be getting here soon, we are still experiencing pretty cold temperatures in our neck of the woods.  It even snowed in the mountains yesterday, hopefully that is the last of it, but only time will tell.  I actually got a lot accomplished last night, I wasn't too tired for once.  That makes me happy because my to do list is so long right now!!!

Here is another baby shower Thank You card I made in the last few days.  The elephant is from the Baby Boy set from Inkadinkado.  I really like that set and am definitely getting my money's worth, especially since i got it for $6 at Joanns!  The sentiment is from PTI's anniversary set.  I used Liquid Pearls in a light blue color for the small dots.  The ribbon is so nice, it is from American Crafts and I have been looking for a use for it, I love the colors!

Baby Boy

First of all, thanks to everyone for their nice comments on my boot card yesterday!  It is so nice to get feedback and know that people are actually gaining inspiration from the stuff I post!  Today I am shifting directions to a little baby card I made over the weekend.  I got this little stamp set at Joann's on Saturday cause all their stamps were 40% off which means the whole set only cost $5.99, a great deal if you ask me.  The set is from Inkadinkado and called Baby Boy, you can see it here.  They also have a cute Baby Girl set but since our lives are surrounded by baby boys right now I opted to get that one.  I plan to stamp some onsies for my brother and SIL's new baby using some images from this set.  For now, though, I created a little welcome baby card.  I stamped the "It's a Boy" with Memories Chestnut, the ducks with Colorbox Fluid Chalk in Ice Blue and VersaMagic in Thatched Straw.  The large squares were of course done with my new Nestabilities.  I promise not to use those the rest of the week:)!  The dotted paper is from K&Company, it is the same stuff I used on my baby box back in February.  The yellow fuzzy ribbon (really velvet I am sure) is from American Crafts.  The card measures 5x5 square.

I know Easter is over....

But I just had to share this card cause I really liked how it turned out.  I don't really have many traditional "Easter" stamps like a bunny or chick but I thought I could color this Hero Arts bird to look like a cute little Easter chick.  So I stamped it in Memories Black and colored it with my water brush and SU! ink in Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, and Cool Caribbean.  I punched it out with a 1 3/8" circle punch and matted it on a scalloped circle (SU! punch) and a larger circle (Marvy punch).  The designer paper is from a mini catalog from laster year.  The flower stamps on the bottom, the tag, and inside are from Papertrey Limitless Labels.  I cut the tag out with my Cuttlebug and stamped the sentiment on it in Cool Caribbean, it is also from Papertrey Limitless Labels.  The kinda pearly white brad is from Target dollar spot last fall.

Happy Easter #2

Happy Friday everyone!  Are you ready for the weekend?  I know I am.  I am already having one of those I really really don't want to be at work days.  I've got Easter stuff to do:)!!! 

Let's see, first off, check out Taylor's blog post today, it is her week to do the PTI newsletter and she made a fabulous project.  I am also sharing another Easter card using her sketch from last Friday.  This is not necessarily an Easter card - you could change out the sentiment and make it for any occasion - but that is what I made it into.  The flower stamp is from Hero Arts and I colored it with SU! markers in Certainly Celery, So Saffron, and Pretty in Pink.  The patterned paper is from SU! as well, the Spring Fling pack.  I have no idea where I got the Happy Easter stamp but I have had it a while.  I stamped it in Pretty in Pink on the card - which was made from Pretty in Pink textured cardstock.  Ribbon is from Michael's dollar bin last year.  Nothing too exciting but I think it turned out pretty cute!

What's a Friday without a Little Cupcake?

I thought I would share a little cupcake card today since it is Friday and all!  Hooray for the weekend when I get to sleep in, wear sweats, take a nap, play with my son, spend time with my hubby, and hopefully stamp!  Before I get to the card, I want to direct you to this week's Papertrey tutorial  by Pine (aka Heather Nichols), it is fabulous.   I am not sure I have any twinkling H2O's to try it, but I do have some Radiant Pearls that might work.  I just might break them out tonight or tomorrow.

Anyhow, on to the card...I used Hey There Cupcake (Stampendous) again and a little bit of paper from the new SU! Prints Hostess pack.  The little "candies" are some I got as a gift but I don't know who makes them.  Ribbon is from a Taylor share...by the way, did you check out her blog today, she has a new online store, congrats Taylor!!!  Nothing too spectacular about the card, just lots of Stickles on the cupcake and cherry (which I colored with markers, after some trial and error).

Finally Friday

It's finally time for another weekend...well almost, in about 8 hours!  I am going to share a cupcake card today but first did you see Lisa Johnson's blog today?  She has a great tutorial on making a "Treat-A-Lope" which I hope to get a chance to try out this weekend if time permits.  I am having some gals over to make egg boxes (from Papertrey) tonight, it should be fun!  We are going to do traditional Easter ones with eggs inside but I will share other ideas with them as well.  I will try to take a picture of my egg box for next week's blog!

Today's card is a quick little card I made a while back with the new Stampendous Hey There Cupcake set from Eclectic Paperie.  It is such a cute set, I can't believe this is the only card I have made with it so far!  This is simple simple simple, the cupcake is stamped with Close to Cocoa and Pretty in Pink, punched out and matted on a Pretty in Pink square and a Chocolate Chip scalloped square.  The designer paper is from SU! Loves Me I think, which is retired.  The ribbon is SU! Chocolate Chip taffeta, the jewel is from K&Co, the tag was cut with my Cuttlebug.  I added a little dotted background with accents with Papertrey's Polka Dot Basics on the inside visible area.

Mailbox #1

Valentine's Day is tomorrow, is everyone ready?  I still have to pick up some things for my son's little mailbox and make him a little card but that shouldn't be too hard.  My hubby and I will celebrate with dinner and movie this weekend (hopefully, I still need to ask my mom to babysit).  I altered a few mailboxes this weekend, for my "little" sisters (they are 20) and a couple of my friends kids.  I will share the design today that I did for my sisters (don't look Danielle, yours is on its way).  Theirs are the same as the picture except I added their initial and a prima on the front next to the large Cuttlebugged heart.  I used some Fiskars patterned paper to cover the mailbox, I got it at Two Peas which has super duper fast shipping by the way.  I love that Fiskars line, it is called Sparkle and they have so many beautiful heart and love type papers.  The hearts on the front were cut out with my Cuttlebug and I think I got the button at Impress long ago.  The Be Mine ribbon is Martha Stewart.

Oh my gosh, I cannot believe it is February already!  We had another good round of snow last night, there is so much in our yard right now.  It still looks pretty right now, not like when it starts to melt and turn brown and yucky.  My poor hubby had to get up early and snow blow the driveway, I am excused from snow moving duty since I am prego.  Good benefit to being pregnant in the winter!

Thought I would share a cute little owl card I made today.  The owl stamp is from Hero Arts and I got it at my LSS.  I colored him with an aquapainter and Taken with Teal Old Olive, and So Saffron ink.  I know owls are not those colors but I wanted to match the paper.  I am not entirely sure who the designer of the paper is, but I love it!  Perfect for any kind of bird card.  The ribbon is some more of that lovely Target ribbon in an olive type color.  The band on the bottom is from Papertrey Ink's Faux Ribbon and the sentiment and leaf are from Beautiful Blooms.  Nothing to difficult or fancy about this one but I do love all those colors together!

I thought I would share a little non-traditional Valentine card today.  I will probably be sending it to one of my good friends for the holiday but I think it could work for other occasions or just to brighten someones day anytime.  The main image is from Hero Arts and I inked the bottom with Old Olive the the top with Real Red and stamped it on Whisper White.  It is sometimes kinda tricky to use inkpads for this but I was just really careful, you could also use markers but for some reason when I used markers the image didn't look as good.  It is matted on Real Red and has one corner rounded, is offset slightly and paper pierced on the two larger sides (does that make sense?).  Cardbase is Old Olive and the dotted paper is Old Olive Designer Series Prints paper.  The white trim is a Doodlebug paper frill.  The small tag was cut with my Cuttlebug and matted on Old Olive which I trimmed by hand.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Faux Ribbon and was stamped in Real Red.  The heart behind it is a very old stamp but I have no idea where I got it and it has no label on it.  I thought it looked good with the hearts on the flowers though.  I looped a piece of red ribbon (Michael's) through the tag and added a small white brad.  Finally, the button is SU! and tied with a bit of white embroidery floss.
