Friends come into our lives in many different ways, from school, jobs, our kids, and even online. It has been a blessing to me that I have lived in quite a few different places and have made a few wonderful friends in every place. I am not the type of person to have a million "friends" who are more like acquaintances, instead I have a few wonderful close friends who I love dearly and would not trade for the world. My two closest friends were my college roomates and we take every opportunity to spend time together, their friendship is essential to my happiness. I also have three sisters who I consider my best friends, one even lives down the street. We have shared our whole childhood and it is wonderful to be able to share our adult lives as well, not because we have to but because we want to. I have also been blessed with some fun stamping friends that have come into my life through Papertrey and this blog, they are the only ones who understand this crazy obsession we all share. It is difficult in the crazy hustle and bustle of life to remember to thank our friends and just let them know we are thinking of them, this is something I am trying to do more of this year and beyond.
Papertrey has created a fabulous friends set this month and also a cool kit full of four of their most wonderful colors and coordinating product - Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, Dark Chocolate, and Vintage Cream. This kit makes it so easy to create wonderful and yet simple cards for all of your wonderful friends. My card is simple, easy and yet elegant. I cut a 3.5x7 inch cardbase from Vintage Cream and three panels from Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, and Dark Chocolate. I used the smaller of the two flowers and Vintage Cream ink to stamp randomly on the panel after I adhered it together. I them stamped the sentiments on Vintage Cream and punched them out with a Marvy Scalloped Rectangle Punch (the purple one). I cut two slits on either side and threaded some Dark Chocolate Satin Ribbon through each and added a button tied with linen thread on either side. By the way those are not Papertrey buttons, I made this card prior to getting those buttons.
Here is a close up of the sentiment panel, one great thing about this set is that all the sentiments are seperate from the word Friend so you can add that in a different color every time.
Okay, so head on over to Nichole's blog, I know there is a fabulous contest to win this set and the kit for you and one of your friends. Hope you all have a wonderful start to the week, one more until the Papertrey release!!! Keep coming back there is more to share!

Wonderful card. Those colors really do look awesome together. I love the simplicity of it. Sometimes the best things in life are the simple things. I try to remember that myself. TFS!!!

Geny, please, please can you save my sanity?? I was blog hopping the other day and came across your blogspot, (absolutely superb!) and viewed a brilliant card that you had made, - it was for Joshua and you called it "just hatched". I've since searched and searched you gallery and can't find this particular card.
I would be so grateful if you could tell me where to view it again.
Many thanks
Jean
