Ready for another fun challenge from Nichole? I hope you are all getting a chance to play along, cause hey you could win free Papertrey stuff!!!!! That's awesome right?! I was totally intimidated at first by the idea of this color challenge (combine Pure Poppy, Summer Sunrise, Ripe Avocado, and Ocean Tides) but then I started thinking of card ideas to showcase the colors and this one just came to me. I love love love Polka Dot Basics so I thought I would showcase that by clear embossing a different pattern one each of the colors, then punching them out and arranging them - that was the basic premise and then I started playing and this is what evolved. Love it:)!!!
After getting the basic card put together I knew I wanted to use Heartfelt Basics for the sentiment, it is the easiest set to make some of the words different colors - does that make sense?! I stamped it on vellum in True Black (seriously Love this ink) and added color pop with the words love and laughter. I even found some coordinating buttons in my stash and tied them with coordinating embroidery floss, cute and simple. And just so you know, the card measures 4.25x4.25, the squares were punched with the pink Marvy scalloped square punch and I scored the card in half in each direction before adhering any of the squares.
I hope this has inspired you to go make your own color challenge card! Check out the other designers blogs today too, they also have some inspiration for you!! Keep coming back, I have lots more to share:)!! Happy Friday!
