Madison Avenue: Communique Curves Inspiration

Do you ever find yourself in need of a small card for that special someone, a card that lets that person know you care but without a whole page to fill up? You know Papertrey has quite a few different envelopes now, including the gift enclosure envelope, perfectly sized for a 2 1/2" x 4" card. I like to sometimes work on these small canvases (kinda like creating an ATC) and I thought the new set, Communique Curves, would lend itself well to some mini cards. The main set is full of lots of holiday phrases and cool design elements and the companion set has lots of everyday sentiments to use with the same design elements. Our mission this month was to create a holiday card and also a non-holiday card with the same elements and design. So I used the fun dotted circular border and stamped it twice, turning it just a bit the second time, then punched it out with my yellow scalloped circle punch (it fits perfectly). I centered my sentiment in the circular dots as well...then added a strip with the rest of the sentiment (for the christmas card) and one with a cool pattern ;) from another set being released this month.

Here is a look at the Christmas version...using Holiday Cheer patterned paper, some twill, and a few vintage buttons...

I even decorated the coordinating envelopes with patterned paper strips and lined the insides of the cards for an extra touch. I envision tucking these into little gifts for my sons teacher or my boss, with a short sweet greeting inside.

And here are the small thank you notes, using Polka Dot Parade and Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper collections, twill, and buttons...same design different colors and occasion.

And a little closer look, the color scheme is one I love, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides, and Summer Sunrise.
