Are you all excited for the release this month? Well, this new template and coordinating stamp set is going to knock your socks off!! All of the design team gals got in on the fun this month and created a template project - yes way more inspiration in the companion download than usual. So first I have a sneak peek of my project, more pictures, supply list and instructions will be available on November 15th at Papertrey. I just love how this turned out, in fact I think it will be difficult to create something not cute with this template, the little house is just that adorable. I used lots of patterned paper with a soft color palette, taking my inspiration from the Bitty Baby Blessings patterned paper collection. I added some vines growing on the side of the house with the new Turning a New Leaf set and bitty flowers punched with a $1 punch I got at Michaels - they were just the right size. And yes, I added a puff of smoke coming out of the chimney with a little bit of cotton from a cotton ball - CUUUUTE, right?
In addition to the fabulous houses we all created, we also used the set to make cards to show you the versatility. I have to admit I was a little daunted making a card with this set at first. I mean I wanted to showcase the elements but I didn't want it to look cheesy...well my husband actually had the idea to make a house shaped card. This is something I have never done but I am sure is not a new idea...but I loved it so I decided to go for it. I am actually showing you the second one I made cause it turned out better, I will save the first for a future blog post. I made all the measurements up myself and just sort of went with it, using a color palette inspired by a piece of Polka Dot Parade patterned paper, Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart, and Ripe Avocado. Sometimes I forget how delicious Lemon Tart is, I just love that color! Anyhow, I just sort of pieced things together, a little sewing here, some trim there, a few flowers, a cool round accent piece, and I just had to add the little kitty from On My Couch to the window - that is hands down my favorite part!
Here is a closer look...
And that stone chimney that I just cut out and slipped behind my patterned paper, you can't even tell on the inside of the card, I was trying to keep the inside fairly clean and I think I accomplished it!
So there you have it, two cute projects with the new set, Home Made and also with the template of the same name. And if you like the card and want dimensions or a tutorial of some kind let me know and I will try to put one together!! Thanks for visiting, please go grab more inspiration from the team - Nichole, Becky, Betsy, Dawn, Debbie, Heather, Lauren, Lisa, Melissa, Mish, and Niki! Have a great day, only two more days until release day!
Aw, the addition of the cat image is genius!!! Adorable, love it!

Vanessa

What a fantastic job on the house and the card. My 4yr old grandaughter was sitting on my lap and when we came to the card, she said "oh isn't that cute gramma". What better testimony than from a 4yr old.

I love your home with the colored roof. Sort of reminds me of a Hansel and Gretal house. And your card is so adorable! Now if only there was a PTI stamp set with a cute, floppy eared dog.
