Happy Saturday!  Hopefully it is a glorious day wherever you are...it is beautiful here, not too hot, sunny and pretty.  I love the picture Nichole shared as inspiration for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop, the colors just scream summer.  I have lots of ideas using the color scheme, but chose to just apply ink directly to my cardstock for this card, after embossing flowers from Friends 'til the End using clear powder.  I absolutely LOVE how this turned out, I only added some simple embellishments to the card after that...like a Limitless Layers die cut stamped with the smaller flower from the same set in Fresh Snow ink and the sentiment stamped using the same rainbow of colors.  I thought the flowers could use a little more punch so I added clear stickers from EK Success (PTI used to carry these, not sure if they do anymore).  I am disappointed how washed out the sentiment seems in this picture, it is perfectly matched in real life and looks great!

Happy Summer

 
Happy Summer!  It finally feels like summer around here, we are enjoying the lazy days and fun activities!  We are going swimming today and the boys are very excited!  Last week we went to the county fair, the boys had a blast riding rides and visiting the animals.  This week they also get to go to their first MLB game, going to see our Giants play the Twins (which is hubby's team)!  Mikey is working on potty training and doing awesome, I am so proud of him.  I didn't think he would ever do it...but suddenly he is excited about it, hooray!  So that's a little of what's happening around here, hope summer is treating you well too!

I thought I would share this happy card today, I made it for one of my cousins who graduated from college this year.  I love the happy colors!  That cool butterfly is from Inkadinkado, I got it at Joann's for a buck! I masked it off and stamped the leaves behind it, then added flowers and a few jewels, I needed to make it mailable so I kept the bulky embellishments to a minimum.

Papertrey Blog Hop

 

I thought I would quickly share a card that fits well with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop this month, the assignment was to make a floral images in some way on your card.  I mean what stamper can't do that right?  I made this card over the weekend before all my crafting stuff was packed away for a bit.  I fell in love with a card Nichole made during last month's countdown where she outlined flowers with a T1 Copic marker on Kraft cardstock.  I used Delightful Dahlia and lots of masking to create the background with Fresh Snow ink.  Then I outlined the whole thing as best I could given my novice Copic skills! 

 
I used a Fillable Frames #4 Die and frame and added a sentiment from Communique Sentiments, I thought the gray complimented the outlined area of the background floral image.  So I added a die cut dahlia in Smokey Shadow with Ocean Tides button to finish it off.

Good Morning!  First of all, thank you for all of your orders the past few days, I am happy to know that my stamps will be going to good homes:)!  We are moving in a couple of weeks and I would like to get my stuff organized beforehand so that includes getting rid of things...there are more sets and some paper still available on the previous post below.  Anyhow, life is good...been creating but holding back some stuff since I am planning on submitting to the current PC call for the next A Card a Day book.  I have last years book and it is great, such a perfect sourse of inspiration.  So, here is a card that I made quite a while ago using a Hero Arts flower & sentiment, Mint Motif border, and PTI border.  I made the frame using two PTI dies, I love it!!  I stamped just the leaf/stem end of the flower to create the pattern on the frame.  Okay, not too much else to share today....I hope life is good for everyone.  Thanks for visiting today!

Good Morning to you!  Popping in super quick to share a card I made recently...a little scrappy, collagey type of card.  Using lots of different stamps...Hero Arts script background, leaves from PTI, flowers from SEI and all so pretty together.  The papers are from the Stella and Rose Gertie collection from My Mind's Eye, I got mine at i {heart} papers!

Birthday Wishes

 
Good Afternoon!  I have a quick card to share this afternoon, a fun simple birthday card using some Material Girl (Cosmo Cricket) patterned paper squares, ric rac, buttons and a big sentiment from Papertrey Ink.  I really like how it turned out, especially my messy stitching. 

 
Anyhow, our very wonderful spring like weather has turned back to winter this week.  We had a bunch of snow overnight which is fine except my hubby decided to take my car and leave me with the safer vehicle for transporting kids.  Well about 1/2 mile down the road he slid and hit a fire hydrant...hard.  Needless to say my car has seen better days and I am just sick about it.  Luckily, my hubby is fine (well except his pride) and he didn't hit another vehicle or worse person or animal.  Trying to look on the bright side...

Sweetest Day

 
Happy Valentine's Day!  I hope you are all having a lovely day with those that you love.  I really like to get my kids little Valentine's goodies and this year is no exception...well Mikey got his little bear early cause he is pretty much ALWAYS with me so surprising him is difficult.  He got a cute little Hershey's kiss bear wearing "jammies" and he just loves it.  He was holding it in the car and said, "Mommy, I so happy."  Very sweet kiddo for sure. 

So here is a card that isn't really a Valentine card but has all the colors and feel of one...a little die cut cupcake (the die is from Quickutz), pink, red, polka dots, and glittler...just a few of my favorite things!

Happy Tuesday!  I am finally feeling all the way better (well except for this annoying cough) and ready to get my life back in order!  Does anyone else feel like life kind of gets out of hand when you are sick?  I have a couple of fun cards I made before I got sick to share today.  Both feature a fabric embellishment, this time a little teacup with a flower added.  And no worries, I am still planning on getting a tutorial for the fabric embellishments put together! 

 
I stamped some text background and flourishes (can you tell this is one of my favorite stamps?) and added a border.  I stamped the sentiment in a rich dark chocolate which I think really sets it off!

 
I made another same card replacing the red accents with pink and a bit of different but similar fabric.  I think I love this one more!!

Quick Cards

 
I needed a couple of cards to send to some special people last night and I had some of my fabric embellishments sitting on my desk so I put together two super simple cards.  Both use a die cut frame - the first uses PTI's Fillable Frames and Mat Stack dies together and the second uses a Labels 17 die cut and a Fillable Frames die.  It is so easy and fun to create these frames and I think they really add something to a card.  Anyhow super simple stamping and voila a card was made.  Pretty happy with these, truly in my comfort zone!

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

 
 
I haven't had the opportunity to participate in the monthly Papertrey Ink Blog Hop for a while so I thought I would give it a try today.  And hooray, the baby took a nap and I had already finished my chores so today nap time =  craft time!  I have two little Valentine projects to share using my loved but not used enough set, Love Songs.  It is such a fun grouping of images!  I think this tag will be tied to some Valentine candy for my sweet hubby! 

 
The next project uses the same color combo as the first, just a cute little bag I cut out with my Cricut.  I used last years My Minds Eye Love Me Do collection which I adore!!  I added a cute simple tag, a little clip and some ribbon.  I think a few Reese's Hearts would be a perfect fit for this little gift bag!

 

 

Okay, that's it today...I need to get out and enjoy this beautiful January weather we are having...seriously it's like 60 degrees today!  Mikey and I even ate lunch outside!  Have a great one and thanks for visiting!
