Jumbo Cling Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stampendous Blog Hop, we are featuring the latest Cling Jumbo flowers for this fun hop, they are:

• Cling Jumbo Dogwood Set
• Cling Jumbo Tulip Set
• Cling Jumbo Tiger Lily Set

They are all so pretty, I had a hard time deciding which one to use.  In the end though I chose the beautiful dogwood, because there are lots of dogwood trees in bloom around Northern California right now and I love love love them!  I chose to interpret a beautiful pink dogwood, like this-

 
Isn't it gorgeous?  I used colored pencils and some gamsol to color my dogwood, it is stamped on kraft cardstock first.  I really like how colored pencils look on kraft cardstock, gives the color a bit more depth I think.  After coloring my image, I carefully trimmed it out, this is kind of a chore but so worth the extra effort for a special card.  Or if you didn't want to trim the whole thing, consider just trimming out the main flower and popping it up to give your card some dimension.  

 
Before adhering the trimmed out flower, I stamped the Dream Text Background on a white cardbase using Frayed Burlap Distress ink, I added some Spun Sugar and Old Paper Distress inks around the edges too.  I also trimmed a strip of pink cardstock and punched a scalloped edge along the top before adding a sentiment (from Happy Messages Perfectly Clear Set) , button and some coordinating twine.  I love how all these simple embellishments allow the flower to stand out and be the star of the card.  

 
  Now just a few of my thoughts about the Jumbo Cling stamps from Stampendous:

• They are large enough to fill an entire cardfront and stand alone.
• They can also be stamped off the edge of a card and/or not used in their entirety to create a different look.
• They make great background paper, simple and quick to cover a whole sheet.
• They are so detailed that you do not have to color them in (great for people like me who are coloring challenged).
• They work fabulously with acrylic paints also, I have used them for picture frames and I love the way they turned out.
• Each large image also comes with a smaller coordinating image, I love to use these images as accents on all different projects (like the flourish I use ALL the time).
• The Jumbo Perfectly Clear Handle that Stampendous sells to use with the Jumbo Clings works perfectly everytime, I always get a great impression.
• Did I mention they are B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L???

Butterflies, Birthdays and Blog Hoppin'

 
Good Morning!!  I thought it was the perfect day to share a fun birthday card featuring a pretty butterfly and a variety of Stampendous stamps!  For a few reasons...first being that it is my stepmom's birthday and I want to wish her a very Happy Birthday...second, Stampendous is hosting a Jumbo Cling Blog Hop on Saturday, June 11th.  All of the designers will be participating, that's 13 blogs to visit for inspiration featuring the brand new Jumbo Cling flowers (Tulip, Tiger Lily, and Dogwood), and of course there will be prizes.  So make sure to come back and visit Saturday, the hop starts at 8am PST on Saturday! 

Anyhow, this card is pretty simple with Stampendous' Dream Text, Jumbo Cling Dahlia (the flourish) and Orchid Greetings (sentiment) used and the embellishment made from some fancy patterned paper from My Mind's Eye.

Dreams

Hello there...the weather has been dreary and cold with lots of rain and has made me a little crazy the last few days.  I am also blaming it for making me sick...I think I just have a cold or an allergy/cold combo but nonetheless it is A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G!  I need some sunshine and warmth stat!  Anyhow I have a couple of cousins graduating from college this year and this sentiment from Stampendous kinda seemed appropriate for a big life change like that.  So, I layered it with some text and a pretty tile background (both from Stampendous) and layered on some pretty patterned paper, just love this collection from Lilly Bee.  A very simple card finished off with a few jewels and a ric rac border (which is a velvet sticker from Stampendous).

Happy Monday!  How was the weekend?  Ours was good and well...annoying too cause it snowed here most of the day Sunday!  Ugh, I am over it for sure!  So I thought I would share a card I made for Stampendous that they shared on their blog last week.  I had fun coloring these pretty poppies using Prisma pencils and gamsol.  I added some sparkly black stickles to the centers and paired them with some pretty background paper.  My favorite little addition is the scalloped strip I added along the edge, just added a little something to the card!

Tissue Flowers

 
Happy Monday!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, we had a great Easter celebration with the family...good food & happy kids, we are definitely blessed.  I am quickly popping in to share a card I made for Stampendous that is featured on their blog today.  I created these delicate tissue paper flowers using white tissue, some Distress ink and a pretty Blossom die.  They are perfect for accenting the leaf image in Stampendous' Jumbo Thank You, which I embossed over the top of the Dream Text background.

Beautiful Jumbo Dahlia

 
I absolutely, positively love the Jumbo Cling stamp series from Stampendous, but none as much as this gorgeous dahlia.  It is so pretty, I have been stamping it on everything!  For this card I used two complimenting colors to ink it before stamping it on crisp white cardstock.  And I love it just like that, no coloring necessary!  I added simple glitter accents throughout, working a little at a time so the glue wouldn’t dry before I got the glitter on.  I added a couple of simple elements, a little label with a sentiment and a pretty satin bow.

Happy Friday!  Quickly stopping in to share my Stampendous Blog Star project for this week, again using the pretty Dandy Stems set.  This time I used the smaller image and embossed it with two different Stampendous embossing powders from the Coastal Express Embossing Kit, such a pretty combination of colors!

 
I added a cute little birthday definition sentiment from the Birthday Assortment set, love this set, a perfect collection of birthday sentiments.

Butterfly Birthday

 
Happy Wednesday!  I am back today with a Stampendous card (they shared it on their blog yesterday) created with the new Jumbo Butterfly Pair which is just fabulous.  I am loving the size of the jumbo stamps I have tried, they are great for a variety of projects!  So for this one I stamped and embossed the smaller of the two butterflies on Ocean Tides cardstock, then added some softness by sponging Fresh Snow ink around the images and the edges. 

 
On the bottom of the card front I added various sentiments from the Birthday Assortment set in Versamark ink, then added that last sentiment with Dark Brown ink.  I added a small strip of patterned paper and some glitter to break up the two card halves.  And one of my favorite parts is the unexpected use of vellum cardstock as a cardbase.

Springtime Snow

So sorry for the long absence...we have had quite a bit of winter weather spilling into spring, lots of snow over the weekend which also caused us to lose internet.  Ugh, I am so done with winter.  I know it is always like this in March around here but I just want to be warm!  Okay, enough complaints....I do have a card to share which is a mix of a few stamp companies pretty images.

 
I stamped this older Hero Arts background script image which I am pretty sure isn't available anymore in black on Rustic White cardstock.  I added a flourish from SEI's Juliette set a few times with Celery ink.  Lastly I added an image from Stampendous' Dandy Stems set and embossed it with red embossing powder.  I added a few finishing touches, a little Tea Dye ink around the edges, some twine, and a few adhesive pearls.  I just love how this card turned out and it is fun to mix and match different companies images to make a cohesive card.

Dandy Stems

 
Today I am so excited to share my first Stampendous Blog Star project with you!  I used the pretty set, Dandy Stems to create a simple card with a few extra special details.  First of all I inked the large image with two colors which wasn’t too difficult to do, I used smaller inkpads which really helped.  I then added some beautiful Stampendous Crystal Glitter to the center of each “petal” using nothing more than a glue pen.

 
I almost just left the card like that because I love that image so much.  I could see making a set of simple notecards in a spectrum of colors.  I decided to add a piece of pretty ribbon and a curly label with a simple Happy Birthday sentiment (from the Birthday Assortment set).
